09 Feb Peacock Ore – Meaning, Uses, & Healing Properties
What Is Peacock Ore?
Peacock Ore is a naturally-occurring copper iron sulfide mineral; a common copper bearing mineral used as an ore of copper when found in copper deposits.
Its scientific name is Chalcopyrite or Bornite and its tarnish contains beautiful iridescent rainbow-like colors, similar to that of a peacock, including blue, green, and purple, hence its name. They aren’t rare crystals, as they occur globally, with significant locations including Mangula mine in Zimbabwe, Butte in Montana, and Bristol, Connecticut in the United States.

Peacock Ore Healing Properties
Peacock Ore & The Chakras
As mentioned above, Peacock Ore’s energy aligns and stimulates all of the chakras in your body, making it a great stone for crystal healing.
We each have seven main chakras; the root chakra (security, stability, nature, wealth), the sacral chakra (pleasure, creativity, fertility, adventure), the solar plexus chakra (joy, positivity, purpose, self-esteem), the heart chakra (love, forgiveness, healing, nurturing, empathy), the throat chakra (self-expression, truth, identity, communication), the third eye chakra (spiritual intuition, mental health, focus, psychic abilities), and the crown chakra (clarity, connection to divine consciousness, guidance, and spirit world).
However, as mentioned above, Peacock Ore resonates the most with the solar plexus chakra. This chakra is located in the stomach area and is responsible for our sense of purpose and joy in life, as well as our self-image and confidence.
It can get blocked when we stray from our soul’s purpose and is even linked to our eating habits and metabolism. This can cause feelings of emptiness, hopelessness, and despair, as well as low self-esteem, eating disorders, poor digestive health, pessimism, and a lack of self-belief.
Health
It is also thought to relieve fevers and reduce swelling that comes with illness and injury, and finally, it’s said to enhance the five senses, which can make for better food and romance.
Wellbeing
This stone also unites sour hearts and minds and aids with difficult decision-making, sharpening our intellectual minds, and encouraging us to be open to new ideas.

Success
Because of its solar chakra connection, it’s also extremely useful for those of us who aren’t 100% sure of our path yet or needs help navigating the right path. Alternatively, if you are sure of your purpose, it can help to keep you motivated, excited, and on track to achieving your goals.

Anything that scores below a five out of ten on the scale is generally considered safe to be used with water, and these stones score a low 3 – so we don’t recommend using them with water, as they could crumble or even dissolve.

Cleansing & Charging Peacock Ore
To cleanse your Peacock Ore, place it somewhere safe under the light of the full moon, such as on your window sill before going to bed. You can also smudge it with sage or another purifying herb or place it on a crystal-cleansing plate.
Charging your crystals draws positive energy back into them for more healing. To charge your Peacock Ore, put it in the sunlight for a little while, or place it on top of the Earth for a day – just make sure that it’s a dry day to prevent damaging the stone!
